This thesis involves the study of urelites, meteorites that have undergone differentiation during its evolutionary path and thus belong to the achondrite group, through the use of Raman Spectroscopy. In detail, various olivine crystals were identified under an optical microscope in thin sections characterized by different degrees of shock and then analyzed with the Raman spectrometer by studying the frequency shift of the main peaks of this mineral. The aim is thus to be able to reconstruct the shock and impact history recorded by these rocks through this nondestructive and fast spectroscopic technique.

Abstract
This thesis involves the study of urelites, meteorites that have undergone differentiation during its evolutionary path and thus belong to the achondrite group, through the use of Raman Spectroscopy. In detail, various olivine crystals were identified under an optical microscope in thin sections characterized by different degrees of shock and then analyzed with the Raman spectrometer by studying the frequency shift of the main peaks of this mineral. The aim is thus to be able to reconstruct the shock and impact history recorded by these rocks through this nondestructive and fast spectroscopic technique.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
