Based on previous research, it is completely clear that Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) can support the lean manufacturing paradigm [1]. A fully integrated MES is a vital part of the Lean Digital Factory, where product data, order data and manufacturing data flow in real-time from shop floor to top floor and back. MES is a pre-requisite for Paperless manufacturing, Shopfloor visibility and performance monitoring, Component traceability, Data collection and process analytics.​ in this project, the case study of Alfa Laval company is presented to create a lean digital factory, a seamless flow of data and End-To-End visibility through implementing the MES in the Small category of the Alfa Laval’s production line with focus on the production planning process, in San Bonifacio site in Italy, to achieve advanced component tracking and traceability, full visibility, and a paperless system
