This literature review examines the protective and risk factors that affect resilience in Ukrainian refugee children displaced because the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022. This study analyses the distinct challenges encountered by these children, such as trauma, cultural and language barriers, interrupted education, and difficulties in social integration, alongside the strategies and effective recommendations that enhance their resilience. The review utilises contemporary resilience theories, particularly Masten's framework, which views resilience as a dynamic and context-dependent process of interaction among individual, family, school, and community factors that influence children's capacity to adapt to adversity. The significance of psychosocial support, educational programs, and host community policies in enhancing resilience is emphasised. This review accumulates current research papers and provides recommendations for developing effective intervention programs aimed at enhancing the well-being and integration of Ukrainian refugee children in host countries.
