Character strengths are 24 positive qualities comparable to individual traits, initially theorized by Peterson and Seligman (2004). These personal qualities, which are capable of growth, guide thoughts, actions, and emotions across all areas of life, enabling individuals to realize their potential and contribute positively to collective well-being. Having long been a focus of attention in positive psychology, these strengths have been explored for their potential impact on various aspects of success and well-being, proving to be relevant at different life stages, including university life. However, most research has focused on positive aspects, such as well-being, largely overlooking the contribution of these traits to mental health. This thesis aims to analyze the role of social intelligence, judgment, and self-regulation in promoting well-being and mental health. After defining character strengths according to the VIA model, the study examines how these qualities influence fundamental aspects of psychological health. The methodology of the analysis, the criteria for selecting the reviewed articles, and the data coding process are described in detail. The expected findings aim to support the initial hypotheses and confirm the usefulness of character strengths in fostering psychological well-being and mental health.

Abstract
The expected findings aim to support the initial hypotheses and confirm the usefulness of character strengths in fostering psychological well-being and mental health.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
