The aim of this thesis is to analyse the phenomenon of homeless people in the Italian population, with particular attention to young people; they are a group composed of boys between 13 and 26 years old, whose problems are too often not heard. The research focuses on the effectiveness of the Housing First programme, an innovative approach that aims to provide stable housing as a first step towards social integration and self-reliance. In the following thesis, differences with other approaches to the phenomenon are examined and the results obtained in the application on the Italian territory are analyzed, highlighting the benefits of access to housing as a means of reducing marginality and promoting work and social reintegration. The thesis also discusses current policies to combat homelessness and assesses the effectiveness of the measures taken. Gaps in support services and difficulties of access for young people are highlighted, and awareness-raising is sought. Finally, it is proposed a reflection on the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to effectively address the complexity of the phenomenon of homelessness in Italy and ensure a better future for young people in this difficult housing situation.
