This study sets out to investigate the role of play within contemporary urban dynamics, with a particular focus on the need to create alternative spaces. Such spaces eschew the logic of consumption and the market that characterises the current urban system, offering opportunities for activities that are not necessarily productive or profitable. These playful practices constitute a form of resistance to capitalist and neoliberal structures, paving the way for new modes of social interaction and participation. Play emerges, therefore, as an act of openness involving a plurality of subjects, who traverse urban space in different ways, contributing to reconstructing and redefining it. Through play, relationships and connections can be generated that challenge the predominant narratives of profit and efficiency, promoting a more inclusive and dynamic idea of the city. In this context, play is not only a recreational activity but becomes a means to explore new forms of sociability and to claim the right to the city, fostering the creation of urban environments in which everyone can feel entitled to participate. The research therefore intends to analyse how these playful practices can contribute to transforming Padua's urban spaces, making them more welcoming and meaningful for the communities that inhabit them, and how they can represent a response to the challenges posed by the growing commodification of public spaces.

Abstract
The research therefore intends to analyse how these playful practices can contribute to transforming Padua's urban spaces, making them more welcoming and meaningful for the communities that inhabit them, and how they can represent a response to the challenges posed by the growing commodification of public spaces.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
