This paper examines the production of the Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson, proposing, following a first biographical chapter, a focus on his participations at the Venice Biennale. This specific field of investigation allows us to trace, through the works analyzed, the artist's career and grasp its eclecticism, ranging between art and architecture in a unitary conception that dissolves the boundaries traditionally conceived between the two disciplines. The second chapter traces, work by work, Eliasson's presences at the Venice Biennale: to date, the artist includes among the significant events of his career a total of nine participations. Specifically, four at the Art Biennale and five at the Architecture Biennale. From the path under analysis, the objects and methods of investigation central to Eliasson's artistic research emerge. He proposes immersive environments and works of art that, using a variety of strategies, break down the compositional elements of the reality that surrounds us. The third chapter of the thesis is entirely dedicated to the study of the work brought by Eliasson to the 2003 Art Biennale, as an artist representing Denmark. It was decided to give particular importance to this event because it constitutes his most important participation, due to the role he played. This offered the artist ample possibilities for expression, which translate into the great variety of works presented. The underlying theme of Eliasson’s artistic production is the central importance given to the experiential element: experience is the fundamental way to know the reality that surrounds us. In line with this consideration, in the works proposed by Eliasson the visitor is always called to an active and interactive role with respect to the work, making contact with his own sensorial channels and with his own perceptive modalities in unconventional situations. This involvement allows a revitalization and reconsideration of one’s awareness, questioning truths traditionally taken as objective. The compilation of the work was carried out with the help of archive documents, thematic press reviews and catalogues, consulted at the Historical Archive of Contemporary Arts of the Venice Biennale.

Abstract
This paper examines the production of the Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson, proposing, following a first biographical chapter, a focus on his participations at the Venice Biennale. This specific field of investigation allows us to trace, through the works analyzed, the artist's career and grasp its eclecticism, ranging between art and architecture in a unitary conception that dissolves the boundaries traditionally conceived between the two disciplines. The second chapter traces, work by work, Eliasson's presences at the Venice Biennale: to date, the artist includes among the significant events of his career a total of nine participations. He proposes immersive environments and works of art that, using a variety of strategies, break down the compositional elements of the reality that surrounds us. The third chapter of the thesis is entirely dedicated to the study of the work brought by Eliasson to the 2003 Art Biennale, as an artist representing Denmark.
