Il tempo della redenzione. Il concetto di attimo nella filosofia di Walter Benjamin.

The subject of this thesis is the role of the concept of «instant» in Walter Benjamin’s thought and in his writings. This notion is fundamental in order to understand Benjamin’s conception of time and history; moreover, such a notion has a key role in clarifying the relationship between theological thought and historical materialism in Benjamin’s philosophy. In the first chapter we analyse the role played by the notion of «instant» in Benjamin’s philosophy of history and particularly in the theses «On the Concept of History». The second chapter explores the theologico-political aspect of the concept of instant through works such as «The Origin of German Tragic Drama», the «Theologico-Political Fragment» and «On Language as Such and on the Language of Man».

Oggetto della tesi è il ruolo rivestito dal concetto di attimo nel pensiero e negli scritti di Walter Benjamin. La nozione di attimo è fondamentale per comprendere la concezione benjaminiana del tempo e della storia; tale nozione ha inoltre un ruolo chiave nella comprensione del rapporto fra pensiero teologico e materialismo storico nella filosofia di Benjamin. Nel primo capitolo viene analizzata la funzione svolta dal concetto di attimo nella filosofia della storia di Benjamin, e in particolare nelle tesi «Sul concetto di storia». Il secondo capitolo va ad esplorare l’aspetto teologico-politico del concetto di attimo, attraverso scritti quali l’«Origine del dramma barocco tedesco», il «Frammento teologico-politico» e il saggio «Sulla lingua in generale e sulla lingua dell’uomo».
