The thesis serves to give a general view regard the many reasons why the alternative of the fuel cells could be ideal in order to reduce the environmental pollution, and then to deal in a more specific way their function, giving a particular attention to the hydrogen and all the chemical reactions which involve it. To conclude, it will be listed various applications in different sectors in which the fuel cells are mostly used, such as the transports' sector.
La tesi è volta ad offrire una panoramica generale sui vari motivi per cui l'alternativa delle celle a combustibile possa rivelarsi ideale per ridurre l'inquinamento ambientale, per poi affrontare in maniera più dettagliata il loro funzionamento, con una particolare attenzione rivolta all'idrogeno e alle reazioni chimiche che lo coinvolgono. Per concludere verranno elencate varie applicazioni in vari settori in cui le celle a combustibile trovano più spazio, specialmente il settore dei trasporti.
