This thesis analyzes the life and work of Janusz Korczak, one of the most significant figures in the history of pedagogy and children's rights advocacy. Korczak dedicated his life to enhancing childhood by promoting a pedagogy centered on respect, autonomy, and the dignity of the child, viewed as a person with equal value to that of adults. Through biographical, historical, and theoretical analysis, the thesis delves into Korczak's fundamental principles, examining the cultural and social roots of his ideas and comparing them with those of other educational pioneers such as Ellen Key and Maria Montessori. Additionally, the work highlights how his insights anticipated many aspects of modern theories on education and children's rights. The reflection expands in the final part by exploring Korczak's contemporary legacy and his impact on international institutions like UNICEF, global educational policies, and key documents such as the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Through bibliographic research, this thesis demonstrates how Korczak's work represents not only a historical reference but also an essential educational resource for building a more right society based on equality and mutual respect. As Itzchak Belfer, a student of Korczak who lived in the Orphans' Home, wrote in Il mio maestro Janusz Korczak: "Now the story of the extraordinary Dr. Korczak is also yours. We must pass it on, so there will always be someone who can remember and tell it" (Belfer, 2018, p. 56).
