In the last few decades, research on the relationship between music education and learning transfer has gained increasing interest, highlighting the potential of music to enhance cognitive, linguistic, and social skills. However, over the past ten years, studies in this field seem to have decreased, leaving a significant gap in the literature. This dissertation, through a scoping review, aims to explore, synthesize, and map the existing knowledge on the subject, having as objectives: (1) identifying gaps in recent research; (2) systematizing available evidence on the effects of music in transferring skills to non-musical domains; and (3) suggesting guidelines for future investigations. The analysis highlights promising results, despite a context of limited methodological and theoretical homogeneity, emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinary approaches to deepen the link between musical practice and cognitive effects. The thesis aims to reinvigorate academic and practical interest in this area of study, proposing music as an educational and formative tool with untapped potential.

Abstract
The thesis aims to reinvigorate academic and practical interest in this area of study, proposing music as an educational and formative tool with untapped potential.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
