This thesis examines the external action of the European Parliament (EP) towards Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) between 1994 and 1999. It aims to demonstrate that the EP played a significant role in diplomatic efforts during the crisis and in the reconstruction policies following the conclusion of the Dayton Agreements. The focus of the research is on the fourth legislature of the EP, specifically on the efforts of Members of Parliament to influence policies related to mediation, reconciliation, and reconstruction in BiH. The thesis is based on primary sources from the Historical Archives of the European Union (HAEU) in Florence and offers a new perspective on the European Parliament’s external action in this region.
