This study focuses on the importance of physical education at school and, through it, promoting sports activities to promote physical and psychological well-being. The role of teachers is highlighted, who are not limited to transmitting technical skills, but act as promoters of students' motivation and interest in physical activity, both at school and outside of school. In this context, the theme of Self-Determination Theory is explored, which clarifies how autonomous motivation can positively influence the adoption of active and long-lasting behaviors. The aim of the research is therefore to understand how educational strategies can encourage prolonged and conscious participation in physical activity. The research is based on the analysis of selected studies, whose results highlight effective teaching approaches and strategies to increase students' participation in extra-curricular physical activity. In the final section, the main results and their practical implications are discussed, providing useful insights for physical education teachers.

Abstract
In the final section, the main results and their practical implications are discussed, providing useful insights for physical education teachers.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
