The migratory phenomenon is receiving increasing attention in contemporary society, but the literature reveals that the media and public discourse continue to portray it in a negative and stereotypical manner. This study aims to analyze how migratory experiences, through the narratives of migrants, contribute to creating an alternative view of this condition. The research focuses on the reception system in Italy, using social constructionism as a theoretical framework to explore the power dynamics and structural injustices that affect the lives of migrants. Specifically, it investigates the concept of social justice, introducing an intersectional approach and analyzing the vulnerability experienced in relation to institutional, social, and economic aspects. The participants in the study include five Nigerian migrants, five workers from a cooperative providing reception, and five interns from an association operating in this field. The research adopts a qualitative approach, using episodic-narrative interviews and reflective thematic analysis (Braun & Clarke). The research questions focus on the migrants' narratives regarding the institutional and daily challenges they encounter, seeking to understand how they address these challenges. Additionally, the strategies employed by workers and interns in their support roles are explored. The analysis reveals six main thematic areas that highlight the complexity of interactions between migratory experiences, institutional dynamics, and the responses of those working in the reception field. This study thus contributes to a more nuanced understanding of the difficulties and responses enacted by migrants and support workers.

Abstract
This study thus contributes to a more nuanced understanding of the difficulties and responses enacted by migrants and support workers.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
