The migration phenomenon, and in particular the "healthy migrant paradox," refers to the observed phenomenon in which migrants, despite coming from contexts with limited access to healthcare and precarious health conditions, initially exhibit better health compared to the native population in the host countries. However, over the long term, there is a gradual deterioration in their health, linked to socio-economic, psychological, and environmental factors. This thesis aims to statistically analyze the "healthy migrant paradox" by using statistical models to examine data related to the health of migrants in Italy, with a particular focus on the factors that influence their health over time. The statistical analysis focuses on comparing the health conditions of migrants with those of the native population, considering socio-economic, demographic, and health variables. Advanced statistical tools, such as multivariate regressions and survival analysis, are employed to identify the determinants of health among migrants and their impact on the health deterioration process. The work also explores the inequalities in access to healthcare services and the effect of Italian migration policies on the health of the migrant population. The findings highlight the main dynamics related to the paradox, suggesting that factors such as socio-economic stress, discrimination, and social integration are significant determinants of health deterioration over time. The research concludes with a series of evidence-based recommendations aimed at improving access to healthcare services for migrants and reducing health inequalities through more inclusive public policies.

Abstract
The research concludes with a series of evidence-based recommendations aimed at improving access to healthcare services for migrants and reducing health inequalities through more inclusive public policies.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
