Effetti e meccanismi delle politiche climatiche nell'Unione Europea

This thesis analyzes the mechanisms of climate policies adopted by the European Union, starting with an overview of EU climate change regulations and focusing on the European Green Deal. It will analyze the fiscal, political and social reasons generating opposition to these policies and the progress they have made instead. It will then focus on CO2 emission taxation systems, with a focus on the Emission Trading System (ETS) mechanism and the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) assessing their impact on European businesses. In conclusion, the thesis proposes some solutions to improve the effectiveness of climate policies and ensure a fair transition.

Questa tesi analizza i meccanismi delle politiche climatiche adottate dall'Unione Europea, partendo da una panoramica sulle normative dell'UE contro il cambiamento climatico e concentrandosi sul Green Deal europeo. Si analizzeranno i motivi fiscali, politici e sociali che generano opposizione a queste politiche e i progressi che invece hanno apportato. Ci si concentrerà poi sui sistemi di tassazione delle emissioni di CO2, con un focus sul meccanismo ETS (Emission Trading System) e sul Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) valutandone l'impatto sulle imprese europee. In conclusione la tesi propone alcune soluzioni per migliorare l'efficacia delle politiche climatiche e garantire una transizione equa.
