ABSTRACT INTRODUCTION In recent years, the use of digital technologies has transformed the management of chronic diseases, particularly heart disease, through telemonitoring and telenursing. These tools improve medication adherence, reduce hospital burden and promote better quality of life, especially for chronic and post-hospitalisation patients. Heart disease, a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide, affects quality of life by limiting daily activities and increasing the risk of complications and hospitalisation. Effective management requires continuous monitoring, care and timely intervention. Telemonitoring allows remote control of vital parameters, enabling early intervention and prevention of complications, while telenursing provides educational and personalised support, improving patient autonomy and reducing anxiety and stress. Both strategies are effective in ensuring continuity of care for cardiac patients at home, reducing the need for frequent hospitalisations. OBJECTIVE The aim of this literature review is to assess the effectiveness of telemonitoring and telehealth care in improving the quality of life of cardiac patients by analysing selected studies. MATERIALS AND METHODS Studies published between 2015 and 2025 and involving adult patients over 18 years of age with cardiac disease were included. Interventions must involve telemonitoring or telenursing, with direct involvement of nurses in these interventions. Studies must be quantitative and assess quality of life as a primary or secondary outcome. The search will be conducted in the following databases: PubMed, Google Scholar and CINAHL. Literature reviews will be excluded. Studies published in languages other than English or Italian will also be excluded.
