Body image represents one of the central elements in the experience of transgender and gender-diverse (TGD) individuals, influencing their psychological well-being in several cases. Using various theoretical perspectives such as Gender Minority Stress, the Tripartite Model of Social Influence, the Cognitive-Behavioral Model, and Objectification Theory, the numerous interconnections between cultural norms, individual experiences, and social expectations are illustrated, explaining how these can shape overall the body image of the entire collectivity and, more markedly, of gender minorities. The investigation specifically focuses on aspects such as passing, the objectification of trans bodies, and barriers to access to gender affirmation paths, with particular attention to the experiences of non-binary individuals, gender euphoria, and the structural discriminations that TGD people face. Finally, the role of the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Technician is explored, presenting interventions for education, awareness, and inclusion that can be carried out to support TGD individuals and their surrounding context.

Abstract
Finally, the role of the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Technician is explored, presenting interventions for education, awareness, and inclusion that can be carried out to support TGD individuals and their surrounding context.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
