SIMULAZIONI CLINICHE PER INFERMIERI IN AREA DI EMERGENZA-URGENZA: UN APPROCCIO FONDAMENTALE PER IL MIGLIORAMENTO DELLE COMPETENZE

BACKGROUND: clinical simulations are necessary nurse’s need for a constant training and acquisition of necessary skills to supply an effective and efficient assistance, contributing to reduce adverse events. Such methodology is based on reproduction of clinical scenarios with a level of faithfulness in order to emphasize with them. As per the emergency department, healthcare personnel is frequently called to face intricate situations that require immediate intervention. For this reason, training programs are needed, such as simulations to help provide with the increasing of adaptation skills, decisional-making skills and communicational skills. AIM: The objective of this thesis is to highlight the importance of clinical simulations in the emergency and urgent care setting for the training of nursing healthcare personnel and aims to verify if, through them, the operator acquires greater competence and control of the activities performed. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This work aims to evaluate how clinical simulations can increase nurses' skills for the management of emergencies and urgent situations in critical areas. A search was conducted from the beginning of December 2024 to the end of January 2025 on the PubMed database, which led to the selection of 15 articles. RESULTS: Simulation appear to have fundamental role in a critical area for the promotion of teamwork, communicational skills and critical thought. It is a common thought that it is a necessity to receive a periodic training through patient simulation to update new protocols on the management of adverse events. An appreciated type of said patient simulation is the “in situ” one, because it allows the execution of procedures that require a quick response, applied in real job environment. It is fundamental the theorical preparation to the actual clinical simulation for a comprehension of the importance of the matters that will be faced throughout the clinical simulation. Furthermore, the implementation of two new simulative realities such as VRS and IEMT training is happening. These two realities are still in development but resulted effective for an acceptable training. CONCLUSION: in the emergency department area, clinical simulations are fundamental because they consent to exercise on how to respond promptly in situations that require immediate intervention by controlling the emotional impact. It would, therefore, be useful in the future for all nurses to have the opportunity to take part in periodical clinical simulations throughout their entire professional career

BACKGROUND: Le simulazioni cliniche sono strumenti necessari agli infermieri per una formazione continua e l’acquisizione di competenze necessarie per fornire un’assistenza efficace ed efficiente, contribuendo a ridurre gli eventi avversi. Tale metodologia si basa sulla riproduzione di scenari clinici con un grado di fedeltà tale da facilitare chi simula a immedesimarsi in essi. In ambito di emergenza-urgenza, i professionisti sanitari si trovano frequentemente a fronteggiare eventi complessi che richiedono interventi immediati. Per questo motivo si necessita di programmi di formazione, come le simulazioni, per lo sviluppo di capacità di adattamento, decisionali e comunicative. SCOPO: L’obiettivo di questa tesi è di evidenziare l’importanza delle simulazioni cliniche in ambito di emergenza-urgenza per la formazione del personale sanitario infermieristico e mira a verificare se, tramite esse, l’operatore acquisisce maggiore competenza e controllo delle attività svolte. MATERIALI E METODI: Il presente lavoro si propone di valutare in che modo le simulazioni cliniche possono accrescere le competenze degli infermieri per la gestione delle emergenze-urgenze in area critica. È stata eseguita una ricerca da inizio dicembre 2024 a fine gennaio 2025 sulla banca dati PubMed che ha portato alla selezione di 15 articoli. RISULTATI: Le simulazioni risultano avere un ruolo fondamentale in un contesto di area critica per la promozione del lavoro di squadra, delle capacità comunicative e del pensiero critico. È un pensiero comune la necessità di ricevere una formazione periodica tramite simulazione per l’aggiornamento dei nuovi protocolli sulla gestione degli eventi avversi. Una tipologia apprezzata di simulazione è quella in situ perché permette l’esecuzione di procedure che richiedono una rapida attivazione, applicata nei reali contesti lavorativi. Fondamentale la fase di preparazione teorica alla simulazione per una comprensione dell’importanza delle questioni che saranno affrontate nell’esercitazione. Inoltre c’è l’implementazione di due nuove realtà simulative ovvero la VRS e l’IEMT training. Due realtà ancora in via di sviluppo ma risultati efficaci per una buona formazione. CONCLUSIONE: Nell’area dell’emergenza-urgenza le simulazioni cliniche risultano essere fondamentali perché consentono di esercitarsi ad agire tempestivamente in situazioni che richiedono interventi immediati controllando l’impatto emotivo. Sarebbe, quindi, utile in futuro per tutti gli infermieri avere l’opportunità di prendere parte a periodi di simulazioni cliniche durante tutto l’arco del proprio iter professionale.
