This thesis explores the potential role of social work within the music industry—a sector often overlooked by traditional welfare policies. Through an interdisciplinary approach, the study analyzes the structural fragilities of the so-called "musical neighborhood" and proposes a rethinking of social work tools through a community-based lens. It examines various European welfare models and suggests practical strategies—such as cultural co-planning or the development of a Cultural Area Plan—to highlight the role of the social worker as a network facilitator, rights promoter, and agent of change. The thesis is grounded in the idea that cultural labor is a vital component of social cohesion and collective well-being.
Questa tesi esplora il potenziale del servizio sociale all’interno dell’industria musicale, settore spesso escluso dalle politiche di welfare tradizionali. Attraverso un approccio interdisciplinare, l’elaborato analizza le fragilità strutturali che caratterizzano il “quartiere musicale” e propone un ripensamento degli strumenti del servizio sociale in chiave comunitaria. Vengono esaminati modelli di welfare europei e avanzate proposte operative – come la coprogettazione culturale o l’attivazione di un Piano di zona culturale – per valorizzare il ruolo dell’assistente sociale come facilitatore di reti, promotore di diritti e attore del cambiamento. La tesi si fonda su una visione del lavoro culturale come elemento centrale della coesione sociale e del benessere collettivo.
