This thesis analyzes the relationship between mindfulness and prosociality, deepening its theoretical and historical roots, as well as the main empirical evidence available in the literature. After an overview of the evolution of the concept of mindfulness, the connection between awareness, compassion, and prosocial behaviors is explored. The experimental part of the thesis involves the use of a self-report questionnaire aimed at verifying the existence of a positive correlation between dispositional mindfulness and prosocial attitudes. In particular, it investigates how the daily practice of meditative exercises, such as yoga or similar activities, may affect individual perceptions and behaviors oriented toward the well-being of others.
