Abstract
Mentoring is a supportive methodology in which an experienced person (mentor) offers guidance and support to another less experienced person (mentee): through building a one-to-one relationship based on mutual trust and shared learning, it aims to foster the mentee's personal and social development. In the context of sports, the mentor assumes a central role, promoting the acquisition of essential life skills and fostering social inclusion through the sporting activity itself. This paper explores the importance of mentoring in sports as a tool for prevention and promoting wellness in youth, analyzing the origins, applications and declinations in the world of sports. The program “Mentor-UP for Sport,” an initiative to integrate mentoring into sports practice with the goal of supporting at-risk adolescents, is explored. Through an analysis of the results, it emerges how the combination of mentoring and sports fosters individual growth, contributing to the building of a more cohesive and inclusive community.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
