This thesis aims to conduct an analysis of logistics dynamics and transport optimization strategies within the context of the GDO, with a specific focus on the case study of the company Unicomm S.r.l. The increase in handled volumes has led the company to consider the establishment of a new logistics hub that is more centralized and efficient. The objective of the study is to identify the optimal geographical area for locating the new distribution center, through a comparative analysis of the economic impact relative to the current logistics structure. By analyzing transport flows, moved volumes, and incurred costs, the economic convenience of concentrating logistics activities in a single facility is evaluated. The thesis also includes an assessment of the trade-offs between logistics costs and service levels, taking into account different operational scenarios in order to determine a logistically and economically efficient solution. The results of the analysis allow for the identification of the theoretical optimal point for the location of the new distribution center, comparing the various available developable areas. Finally, the project highlights how logistics represents a key strategic lever for strengthening corporate competitiveness within the large-scale retail sector.
La presente tesi si propone di analizzare in modo approfondito le dinamiche logistiche e le strategie di ottimizzazione del trasporto nel contesto della Grande Distribuzione Organizzata (GDO), con un focus specifico sul caso aziendale di Unicomm S.r.l. L'incremento dei volumi sviluppati ha indotto l’azienda a considerare la realizzazione di un nuovo polo logistico, maggiormente centralizzato ed efficiente. L’obiettivo dell’elaborato consiste nell’individuazione dell’area geografica ottimale per la localizzazione del nuovo centro distributivo, mediante un’analisi comparativa dell’impatto economico rispetto all’attuale assetto logistico. Attraverso l'analisi dei flussi di trasporto, dei volumi movimentati e dei costi sostenuti, viene valutata la convenienza economica derivante da un accentramento delle attività logistiche in un’unica struttura. L'elaborato include inoltre una valutazione dei trade-off tra costi logistici e livelli di servizio, considerando diversi scenari operativi al fine di individuare una soluzione logisticamente ed economicamente efficiente. I risultati emersi dall’indagine consentono di individuare il punto di ottimo teorico per la localizzazione del nuovo centro distributivo, mettendo a confronto le differenti aree edificabili disponibili. Il progetto evidenzia, infine, come la logistica rappresenti una leva strategica fondamentale per il rafforzamento della competitività aziendale all’interno del settore della GDO.
