This thesis aims to analyse the process of international adoption of Chinese children by Spanish families. The objective of this work is to examine each phase of the adoption process in depth, from the submission of the application to the post-adoption stage. The study adopts an interdisciplinary perspective that includes legal, psychological, social, and cultural dimensions. Particular attention is given to the human right of minors, with a focus on transparency, protection, and their overall well-being. The thesis progressively illustrates the laws in force regarding adoption in China, Spain and at the international level, analysing their structure in light of each country’s historical and political context. Further analysis is dedicated to the required bureaucratic documentation, waiting times, costs and their potential variations, cases involving children with special needs and the journey to the adoptee’s country of origin. Special attention is also given to the crucial role played by professionals and institution, whether public or private. Finally, the thesis examines the support and integration tools provided in the receiving country.
La presente tesi verte ad analizzare il processo dell’adozione internazionale di bambini e bambine cinesi da parte di famiglie spagnole. L’obiettivo di questo elaborato è quello di esaminare ogni fase del percorso adottivo in modo approfondito, dalla presentazione della domanda fino alla post-adozione. Lo studio adotta una prospettiva interdisciplinare che include il piano normativo, psicologico, sociale e culturale. Particolare attenzione viene posta sui diritti umani dei minori con un focus centrato sulla trasparenza, sulla tutela e sul benessere di questi. Progressivamente si illustreranno le leggi vigenti in materia di adozione in Cina, in Spagna e a livello internazionale, analizzandone la struttura alla luce del contesto storico-politico dei singoli paesi. Si approfondiranno i documenti burocratici richiesti, il tempo d’attesa, il costo e le sue possibili variazioni, i casi di adozione di bambini con bisogni speciali ed il viaggio al paese d’origine dell’adottato. Un’attenzione particolare è dedicata anche al ruolo cruciale dei professionisti e delle istituzioni, le quali possono essere pubbliche o private. Infine, verranno analizzati gli strumenti di supporto e d’integrazione che vengono erogati nel paese d’arrivo.
