This thesis explores the evolution of Corporate Social Responsibility, from the philanthropic model of the 19th century to the current Community Economy, ultimately outlining the Community Corporation as a new way of doing business. Through theoretical analysis and an examination of the current corporate legal framework, it investigates the overcoming of the traditional business-society divide and the emergence of participatory local development practices. The aim is to highlight how businesses can generate shared value by rooting themselves in the community and activating its potential. The Community Corporation model seeks to increase profits while fostering the growth of the surrounding society, promoting development through initiatives involving related organizations, and striving to maintain optimal levels of corporate welfare for employees.
