Il cinema a Treviso. Storia e luoghi del cinema nella Marca

This thesis focuses on the history of cinema in Treviso and the surrounding municipalities that make up the March of Treviso, offering an overview of the locations connected to cinema in the area. The thesis has been divided into two distinct sections by theme and purpose. The first section illustrates the encounter between the city of Treviso and the Seventh Art, the evolution of the movie theater and the public over time, through the World Wars up to the present day. The thesis also recalls historical figures of the film industry in the March and their contribution to the history of cinema of the Province. The chapter also includes a reflection on the use of the city of Treviso and the Province as a location dedicated to film production, looking at the organizations supporting such productions currently operating in the area. The second section offers some examples of films shot, in part or in their entirety, in the city of Treviso and in the territory of the March, focusing on the use of the location as an integral part of production and narration. In Signore & signori by Pietro Germi the city is analyzed as a theater of intrigue, vice and hypocrisy. In Amanti by Vittorio De Sica the structure of the Venetian villa, widespread in the Treviso countryside, is proposed as a symbolic place of love, meditation and intimacy. Finally in Finchè c'è prosecco c'è speranza by Antonio Padovan and the TV series Stucky produced by Rai the countryside and the city are compared, inextricably linked to the story and its protagonists. The thesis project as a whole therefore aims to represent the great versatility of the March of Treviso as a location for multimedia production, enhancing its history and underlining its importance in the current cinematographic panorama.

Questa tesi si focalizza sulla storia del cinema a Treviso e nei comuni limitrofi che costituiscono la Marca Trevigiana, offrendo una panoramica dei luoghi collegati al cinema presenti nel territorio. L'elaborato è stato diviso in due distinte sezioni per tematiche ed intenti. La prima sezione illustra l'incontro tra la città di Treviso e la Settima Arte, l'evoluzione della sala cinematografica e del pubblico nel tempo, attraversando le Guerre Mondiali per arrivare fino ai giorni nostri. Nell'elaborato in aggiunta vengono ricordate storiche figure del settore cinematografico nella Marca e il loro contributo alla storia del cinema della Provincia. All'interno del capitolo è presente inoltre una riflessione sull'uso della città di Treviso e della Provincia come luogo adibito alla produzione cinematografica, rivolgendo uno sguardo agli enti di sostegno a tali produzioni attualmente operanti nel territorio. La seconda sezione offre invece alcuni esempi di film girati, in parte o nella loro interezza, nella città di Treviso e nel territorio della Marca, focalizzandosi sull'uso del luogo come parte integrante della produzione e della narrazione. In Signore & signori di Pietro Germi viene analizzata la città come teatro di intrighi, vizi ed ipocrisia. In Amanti di Vittorio De Sica la struttura della villa veneta, diffusa nelle campagne trevigiane, si propone come luogo simbolo di amore, raccoglimento e intimità. Infine in Finchè c'è prosecco c'è speranza di Antonio Padovan e la serie televisiva Stucky prodotta da Rai vengono messe a confronto campagna e città, indissolubilmente legate alla vicenda e ai suoi protagonisti. Il progetto di tesi nel suo complesso mira quindi a rappresentare la grande versatilità della Marca Trevigiana come luogo di produzione multimediale, valorizzandone la storia e sottolineando la sua importanza nel panorama cinematografico attuale.
