This thesis explores the dimensions of smart aging and artificial intelligence, focusing on the perceptions and opinions that older adults have expressed toward the latter. The work consists of a theoretical section, aimed at framing the key elements of smart aging and artificial intelligence through a literature review and a critical analysis mainly based on a Science and Technology Studies (STS) approach, and an empirical section, developed through qualitative research with the aim of understanding the views and perceptions of older adults regarding AI. The purpose is to offer a broader perspective on a demographic group that is underrepresented in the literature, in relation to the continuously evolving phenomenon of artificial intelligence and its intersection with pressing social issues such as population aging and the digital divide.

Abstract
This thesis explores the dimensions of smart aging and artificial intelligence, focusing on the perceptions and opinions that older adults have expressed toward the latter. The work consists of a theoretical section, aimed at framing the key elements of smart aging and artificial intelligence through a literature review and a critical analysis mainly based on a Science and Technology Studies (STS) approach, and an empirical section, developed through qualitative research with the aim of understanding the views and perceptions of older adults regarding AI. The purpose is to offer a broader perspective on a demographic group that is underrepresented in the literature, in relation to the continuously evolving phenomenon of artificial intelligence and its intersection with pressing social issues such as population aging and the digital divide.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
