The English Heritage Website: Language, Style, Register.

The English Heritage website is one of the fundamental tools for the management and promotion of English historical and cultural heritage and related tourism. This thesis aims to lead an in-depth analysis of the English Heritage site. First the structure of the website will be analysed, with particular attention to the division of sections, their functionality and accessibility to different target groups. Then the linguistic aspect will be examined, in particular the style, register and terminology used. Additionally, the analysis will consider communicative strategies, the target audience, as well as the iconographic and digital elements of the website.

Il sito web dell'English Heritage è uno degli strumenti fondamentali per la gestione e la promozione del patrimonio storico e culturale inglese e del relativo turismo. Questa tesi si propone di condurre un'analisi approfondita del sito dell'English Heritage. Inizialmente verrà analizzata la struttura del sito, con particolare attenzione alla suddivisione delle sezioni, alla loro funzionalità e all'accessibilità ai diversi gruppi target. Verrà poi esaminato l'aspetto linguistico, in particolare lo stile, il registro e la terminologia utilizzati. Inoltre, l'analisi prenderà in considerazione le strategie comunicative, il pubblico di riferimento, oltre agli elementi iconografici e digitali del sito.
