TRA GOTICO E REALISMO: L’ANIMA MULTIFORME DI HONORÉ DE BALZAC

The thesis is about two important literary movements of the XVIII century, the gothic and realistic literature. It explains the two traditions through the analysis of the main novels that represent the characteristics of the movements. The thesis is also about how the gothic and realistic tradition can be connected to Balzac’s literary production in his most important novels.

La tesi si pone come obiettivo l’analisi di due importanti correnti letterarie del XVIII secolo, la letteratura gotica e la letteratura realistica, attraverso la breve trattazione di alcuni dei romanzi che rappresentano le colonne portanti dei rispettivi generi. Lo scopo è inoltre quello di mettere in evidenza come le due correnti trovino spazio nella produzione letteraria di Honoré de Balzac, sia in modo separato che congiunto, attraverso l’analisi dei romanzi più importanti dell’autore.
