“BUSCAR LA VIDA” ENTRE MUROS Y MAR EN EL TRÁNSITO HACIA LA PENÍNSULA: ACOGIDA SITUADA EN TERRITORIO FRONTERIZO DE ENCLAVE EUROPEO NORTEAFRICANO PARA JÓVENES EN MOVIMIENTO

This thesis emerges from a fieldwork experience in the city of Ceuta to critically reflect on reception practices and the potential of collective workspaces with migrant youth on the move. Framed within a unique border zone marked by colonial vestiges, the research explores how a comprehensive form of hosting can be created, one that responds to migratory trajectories, vital needs, and horizons of autonomy, while considering the historical, social, political, cultural, and economic structures that shape these contexts. Combining a situated ethnographic approach with Participatory Action Research (PAR), this work is grounded in a decolonial perspective that acknowledges the tension between a desire for transformation that goes beyond the individual, toward a collective recognition and systemic critique, and the immediate material urgency faced by migrant bodies. Through interviews, workshops, and surveys in the city, the voices of young people are brought together with those of various actors who interact with them and help shape this complex reality. Rather than imposing an external narrative of change, the thesis begins with a theoretical framework that offers tools for deeper reading of the findings from the fieldwork that follows. It pays close attention to the possibilities and limitations that emerge from this encounter. From there, it proposes fertile analytical keys for future collective projects and for imagining other forms of hosting, grounded in justice, dignity, and the real act of listening to those who inhabit the margins and shape other possible worlds.

Questa tesi parte da un’esperienza sul campo vissuta nella città di Ceuta per riflettere criticamente sull’accoglienza e sul potenziale degli spazi di lavoro collettivo con giovani migranti in movimento. Inquadrata in una frontiera particolare con vestigia coloniali, la ricerca esplora come possa essere costruita un’accoglienza integrale che risponda alle traiettorie migratorie, ai bisogni vitali e agli orizzonti di autonomia, tenendo conto della dimensione strutturale storica, sociale, politica, culturale ed economica che li contestualizza. Il lavoro combina un approccio etnografico situato con la Ricerca-Azione Partecipativa (RAP) e si costruisce da una prospettiva decoloniale che riconosce la tensione tra il desiderio di trasformazione che supera l’individuale, passando al riconoscimento collettivo di una critica sistemica, e l’urgenza materiale immediata che attraversa i corpi migranti. Attraverso interviste, laboratori e indagini condotte in città, si articolano le voci dei giovani, ma anche quelle di diversi attori che interagiscono con loro e che compongono questa realtà. Lontano dall’imporre una narrazione esterna del cambiamento, la tesi inizia con un approccio teorico ad alcuni elementi utili per leggere in profondità quanto emerso dai risultati del lavoro sul campo che seguono, soffermandosi sulle possibilità e sui limiti che emergono in tale incontro. Da lì, propone chiavi di lettura fertili per futuri progetti di costruzione collettiva e per immaginare altre forme di accoglienza con priorità e pilastri impegnati nella giustizia, nella dignità e nell’ascolto reale di coloro che abitano i margini e costituiscono altri mondi possibili.
