Analysis and translation of Book VII of the Scriptores Illustres by Sicco Polenton, focusing in particular on the lives from Augustus to Alcuin. The research aims to understand the sources used by Sicco in the composition of his magnum opus and will highlight the relationship between the knowledge of ancient authors during the Humanist period and our current understanding of them.
Analisi e traduzione del VII libro degli "Scriptores illustres" di Sicco Polenton, in particolare le vite da Augusto ad Alcuino. La ricerca è mirata a comprendere le fonti utilizzate da Sicco per la stesura della sua opera magna e metterà in luce il rapporto tra le conoscenze degli autori antichi nell'Umanesimo e le conoscenze odierne.
