Tra poesia e prosa: tradurre musicalità e gioco linguistico nei testi di Anna Szabó T.

The main aim of this dissertation is to suggest a possible translation into Italian of some short-stories by Hungarian writer Anna T. Szabó, from the book Határ, and also to introduce the writer herself, placing her within the Hungarian literary landscape; at present none of Szabó’s works has ever been published in Italian. The dissertation, after a brief account of the history of the discipline, also presents some general reflections on literary translation, for example examining the relation between the interpretative process and translation and analyzing the contribution that post-colonial studies can make to translation studies. The dissertation explains and motivates the methodology and the translation choices, mentioning the works of various scholars and translators.

Obiettivo principale di questa tesi è presentare una possibile traduzione in italiano di alcuni testi provenienti dal volume Határ della scrittrice ungherese Anna T. Szabó, nonché presentare la figura dell’autrice inserendola all’interno del panorama letterario ungherese; al momento attuale nessun opera di Szabó è mai stata pubblicata in traduzione italiana. La tesi, dopo un breve excursus sulla storia della traduzione, propone anche alcune riflessioni generali sulla traduzione letteraria, riguardanti per esempio la relazione tra il processo interpretativo e traduzione, nonché l’apporto che gli studi postcoloniali possono dare agli studi traduttivi. La metodologia utilizzata e le scelte traduttive sono spiegate e motivate all’interno della tesi, sulla base di osservazioni di varie studiose e traduttrici.
