This study focuses on the translation of the novel Jane Eyre, in particular on the comparative translation from English to Italian of three different versions of the novel. Despite the prohibition of publishing for women, the Victorian Age was dominated by women on a literary level, who published novels under pseudonyms. Jane Eyre is an example of this phenomenon and how its dissemination was central during that time. With a focus on the meaning of translation and its methods, this study on comparative translation explains the development of translation and the languages analysed. Through the knowledge of the author and the novel, it will be possible to understand the phenomenon of translation during the Victorian era. Different stylistic, linguistic and grammatical aspects will be analysed not only regarding the Italian translations, but also regarding German, Spanish, Chinese, Danish and French translations of the novel.

Abstract
Different stylistic, linguistic and grammatical aspects will be analysed not only regarding the Italian translations, but also regarding German, Spanish, Chinese, Danish and French translations of the novel.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
