In my Final Graduation Report, I intend to highlight the benefits of reading picturebooks aloud in early childhood education services (0-6) and in the home environment, focusing particularly on the cognitive and emotional development of preschool children. The first chapter focuses on the definition of children's literature and includes an overview of its history. The second chapter delves into the picturebook, examining definitions provided by various authors, and the role that words and images play within it. The third chapter explores how reading picturebooks can impact child development. After talking about reading aloud, a definition of empowerment is provided. This is followed by an examination of cognitive empowerment, including its benefits for linguistic development, memory and Executive Functions, and of emotional empowerment, with a focus on the development of empathy. The fourth and final chapter presents the Nati per Leggere project, which aims to promote early childhood reading, along with relevant data that help evaluate the actions carried out and the educational and social impact of this program in our country.
All'interno della mia Relazione Finale di Laurea intendo evidenziare i benefici della lettura ad alta voce di albi illustrati all'interno dei servizi educativi 0-6 e in ambito domestico, focalizzandomi soprattutto sullo sviluppo cognitivo ed emotivo del bambino in età prescolare. Il primo capitolo si concentra sulla definizione di letteratura per l'infanzia e contiene un excursus sulla sua storia. Il secondo capitolo approfondisce invece l'albo illustrato, esaminando le definizioni fornite da alcuni autori, e il ruolo che parole e immagini rivestono all'interno di questo. Il terzo riguarda come la lettura degli albi illustrati può avere impatto sullo sviluppo del bambino. Dopo aver trattato della lettura ad alta voce, viene fornita una definizione di empowerment. In seguito sono esaminati l'empowerment cognitivo, con un collegamento ai benefici linguistici, per la memoria e per le Funzioni Esecutive, e l'empowerment emotivo, con un riferimento allo sviluppo dell'empatia. Nel quarto e ultimo capitolo vengono presentati il progetto Nati per Leggere, volto a promuovere la lettura nella prima infanzia, e alcuni dati significativi che consentono di valutare l’efficacia degli interventi realizzati e l'impatto educativo e sociale di questo programma sul nostro territorio.
