The thesis project addresses the challenge of re-developing and updating the former Bertoli furnace complex, a site of significant value located in Lughignano (TV). The initiative aims to revive the roots of the territory, reinterpreting ancient traditions in a contemporary perspective. At the same time, it aims to define a model of autonomous residential district, based on the most innovative European experiences and projected towards a future characterized by sustainability and environmental protection. The new eco-district will be integrated with the functional recovery of the historic furnace complex, destined to transform into a dynamic multipurpose collective pole. This structure will offer a range of essential services, spaces dedicated to culture and places of social gathering, designed to welcome both future residents of the district and the local community and visitors to the territory. The project investigation will extend to the analysis of the surrounding territorial context, carefully examining the existing connecting infrastructures. The objective is to identify and implement interventions aimed at improving road and waterway connectivity, in order to optimise site accessibility. The design philosophy is based on the use of environmentally friendly materials and sustainable construction techniques, on the integration of the natural landscape as a key element and on the celebration of the cultural and historical richness of the Veneto, with a specific focus on its gastronomic tradition, the beauty of the landscape and the enhancement of the territory.
