The transition to electric mobility marks a significant shift for the global automotive industry, requiring manufacturers to rethink their economic models due to strict European environmental policies, technological advancements, and changing consumer preferences. This analysis focuses on the economic repercussions of this transition on European car manufacturers, highlighting the challenges related to investments in the electric vehicle industry and the necessary adjustments in production processes to ensure competitiveness and financial sustainability. Through a comparative analysis of the strategies implemented by various European groups such as Volkswagen, Stellantis, and Renault, this study explores how these companies are adapting their practices in response to environmental regulations, competitive pressure from new entrants—especially Tesla and Chinese manufacturers—and the evolving labor market within the sector. The objective is to provide a concise yet comprehensive perspective on the costs, opportunities, and economic risks inherent in this industrial transformation.

Abstract
The transition to electric mobility marks a significant shift for the global automotive industry, requiring manufacturers to rethink their economic models due to strict European environmental policies, technological advancements, and changing consumer preferences.
