This thesis was carried out as part of a training internship and aims to conduct a comparative and perceptual analysis between the analog Dolby A encoding/decoding system and its digital counterpart, implemented using the PSpacial Audio software. The goal is to assess whether the software-based simulation can accurately replicate the behavior of the analog Dolby A system, and to evaluate its effectiveness as a potential alternative in audio restoration and production contexts. To this end, comparative tests were performed on audio signals processed with both systems, followed by perceptual listening tests to identify any audible differences. The results will provide insights into the quality and reliability of the digital version compared to the analog system.

Abstract
This thesis was carried out as part of a training internship and aims to conduct a comparative and perceptual analysis between the analog Dolby A encoding/decoding system and its digital counterpart, implemented using the PSpacial Audio software. The goal is to assess whether the software-based simulation can accurately replicate the behavior of the analog Dolby A system, and to evaluate its effectiveness as a potential alternative in audio restoration and production contexts. To this end, comparative tests were performed on audio signals processed with both systems, followed by perceptual listening tests to identify any audible differences. The results will provide insights into the quality and reliability of the digital version compared to the analog system.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
