This work focused on the performance analysis of various gaskets, with particular attention to the elastic properties and thermal resistance of the materials used. The experimental activity included the classification of samples according to the UNI 12365 standard and the execution of elastic recovery tests at 45°C and 55°C. Following an initial selection phase, the analysis was concentrated on three thermoplastic gaskets, two of which were manufactured using an innovative compound. The results highlighted the significant influence of temperature on mechanical performance, especially for a specific geometry that was subsequently examined in greater detail. A testing methodology was developed to validate the declared properties of the new material. Although the data indicated improved performance, some anomalies emerged, suggesting the need to optimize the experimental procedure. Additional tests at higher temperatures and on different geometries were proposed, along with the development of a master curve, in order to more accurately predict the long-term behavior of the materials under real operating conditions.

Abstract
Additional tests at higher temperatures and on different geometries were proposed, along with the development of a master curve, in order to more accurately predict the long-term behavior of the materials under real operating conditions.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
