Azadirachta indica A. Juss. (Neem) is an evergreen tree belonging to the Meliaceae family and native to the Indian subcontinent. According to ancient medical systems, such as Ayurveda, Siddha and Unani Tibb, different parts of the tree are traditionally used in cases of bacterial infections, malaria, virulent diseases, skin diseases, periodontitis, gingivitis, diabetes, allergic reactions, and respiratory and gastrointestinal disorders. In this thesis project, the anti-glycation activity of the ethanolic and aqueous extracts of A. indica stems was studied, and attention was also paid to their polyphenol content. Initially, the work focused on the evaluation of the potential antioxidant activity of the extracts by performing the TPC (Total Phenolic Content) and TFC (Total Flavonoid Content) assays. Subsequently, the potential anti-glycation activity was evaluated using the BSA assay.
