This paper analyzes Borderlands/ La Frontera: The New Mestiza by Gloria Anzaldúa from an alternative perspective, placing marginalized people such as atrevesados and Mundo Zurdo inhabitants at the center of the analysis. It will explore through a thematic reading issues related to gender identity, cultural belonging, diversity and marginalization of ethnic and sexual minorities nowadays . The work also intends to explore gender-based abuse , inclusive language and verbal discrimination. Particular attention is given to the creative world and to art as a vehicle for resistance and liberation, analyzing in parallel poetic, literary and musical texts, including those of Anzaldúa and the Italian-American singer-songwriter LP, and La Niña a Neapolitan singer-songwriter ,reflecting on the transformative power of writing and music in the struggle against oppression.
Il presente elaborato analizza Borderlands/ La Frontera: The New Mestiza di Gloria Anzaldúa sotto una prospettiva alternativa, mettendo le figure marginalizzate come gli atrevesados e gli abitanti del Mundo Zurdo al centro dell'analisi. Si esplorerà attraverso una lettura tematica questioni legate all'identità di genere, all'appartenenza culturale, alla diversità e alla marginalizzazione delle minoranze etniche e sessuali al giorno d'oggi . Il lavoro intende esplorare anche la violenza di genere , il linguaggio inclusivo e la discriminazione verbale. Particolare attenzione è riservata al mondo artistico e all'arte come mezzo di resistenza e liberazione, analizzando parallelamente testi poetici, letterari e musicali, tra cui quelli di Anzaldúa e delle cantautrice italoamericana LP, e de La Niña cantautrice partenopea ,riflettendo sul potenziale trasformativo della scrittura e della musica nella lotta contro le oppressioni.
