The work is divided into two parts, the first of which explores the production of the Polish director, Krzysztof Kieslowski: from documentary genre (70s), then moving on to fiction feature films (80-90) and finally to the most famous movies, Dekalog, The Double Life of Véronique and Three Colours Trilogy. In the second part, Three Colours: Red, belonging to the Three Colours Trilogy, defined as "the testament of Krzysztof Kieslowski", because it is the director’s last film, released in cinemas in 1994. We explore in particular the main themes, the chromatic aspect and the symbolism of the red colour, which takes on different meanings within the film. The similarities that create links with the other two movies of the Trilogy, Three Colours: Blue and Three Colours: White, are also exposed and analyzed.
