Verso il turismo sostenibile: uno sguardo alla Valle del Tesino soggiornando a Maso Patrizia

This thesis entitled “Towards sustainable tourism: a look at the Tesino Valley while staying at Maso Patrizia” deals primarily with sustainable tourism, its developments and the analysis of a practical case applied in Trentino by APT Valsugana-Lagorai and other APTs from the autonomous province of Trento. The main themes are introduced by a general analysis of the tourism sector: the first chapter focuses on the history of tourism, studies regarding this matter and an analysis of national tourism is presented, therefore referring to the Italian and international situation, characterized by the Ukrainian and Israeli-Palestinian conflicts; the second chapter is dedicated to the concept of tourist destination, therefore it is defined what a destination is, its life cycle and the methods for its management; the third chapter deals with the tourism offer of Trentino and the tourist organization of the area, through laws and action plans; the following chapters talk about the areas managed by APT Valsugana-Lagorai and the territory of the Tesino Valley. This territory has acquired the first certification issued for a sustainable tourism district in Italy issued by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council, a body specialized in the construction of standards and evaluation criteria, which thanks to associated bodies issues certifications attesting to the sustainability of a destination, a hotel or a tour operator. We will therefore analyze the actions undertaken by APT Valsugana-Lagorai and then we will focus on the Trentino territory of the Tesino Valley, an area rich in resources and suitable for the practice of sustainable tourism.

Questa tesi intitolata “Verso il turismo sostenibile: uno sguardo alla Valle del Tesino soggiornando a Maso Patrizia” si occupa in primo luogo del turismo sostenibile, i suoi sviluppi e l’analisi di un caso pratico applicato in Trentino da APT Valsugana-Lagorai e altre APT della provincia autonoma di Trento. I temi principali sono introdotti da un’analisi generale del settore turistico: il primo capitolo è incentrato sulla storia del turismo, gli studi riguardanti questa materia e viene presentata un’analisi del turismo nazionale, perciò riferito alla situazione italiana, ed internazionale, caratterizzata dal conflitto Ucraino e quello israelo-palestinese; il secondo capitolo è dedicato al concetto di destinazione turistica, perciò viene definita cos’è una destinazione, il suo ciclo di vita e le modalità per la sua gestione; il terzo capitolo tratta l’offerta turistica del Trentino e l’organizzazione turistica del territorio, attraverso leggi e piani d’azione; i successivi capitoli parlano delle aree gestite da APT Valsugana-Lagorai e del territorio della Valle del tesino. Questo territorio ha acquisito la prima certificazione rilasciata per un distretto del turismo sostenibile in Italia rilasciata dal Global Sustainable Tourism Council, un ente specializzato nella costruzione di standard e criteri di valutazione, che grazie agli enti associati rilascia delle certificazioni che attestano la sostenibilità di una destinazione, di un hotel o di un tour operator. Analizzeremo perciò le azioni intraprese da APT Valsugana-Lagorai e poi ci concentreremo sul territorio Trentino della Valle del Tesino, un’area ricca di risorse e adatta alla pratica del turismo sostenibile. Successivamente verrà presentata la struttura ricettiva Maso Patrizia, struttura extralberghiera gestita da Francesco, un giovane host che sta cercando di rendere la sua attività sostenibile sotto i punti di vista ambientale e sociale.
