The present study is situated within the theoretical framework of Social Constructionism and aims to explore the shared realities of meaning within the O.P.S.A. of Padua in relation to the ageing process, with the intention of identifying strategies aimed at deconstructing age-related prejudice. Particular attention is given to the transformative potential of intergenerational encounters, conceived as opportunities to foster narratives that attribute to ageing a value of growth and progressive enrichment. The adopted research design follows a qualitative approach, and through the use of episodic interviews, it investigates, from the perspective of the professionals working within O.P.S.A., the reciprocal benefits of intergenerational encounters. The aim is to identify the strategies and initiatives considered most effective in promoting meaningful interactions between young adults and older individuals. The findings that emerged from the reflexive thematic analysis highlight how, from a professional perspective, intergenerational initiatives are acknowledged and valued as opportunities for mutual enrichment, capable of deconstructing social representations of old age associated with marginalisation and fragility. Furthermore, the Residential Care Facilities (RSA) are identified as potentially favourable contexts for intergenerational encounters and for the promotion of more inclusive and positive visions of ageing.
