This thesis aims to analyze the role of psychological variables in the understanding and promotion of Financial Literacy, adopting a multidimensional approach that integrates stable individual traits and decision-making processes. Starting from an extended definition of Financial Literacy as a set of knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors necessary to make informed financial decisions, the first chapter provides a theoretical and institutional overview of Financial Literacy and of the strategies adopted for its promotion at both international and national levels. The second chapter focuses on psychological variables considered relatively stable (personality, self-control, attitudes toward money, materialism, impulsive buying) in order to explain individual differences in financial behaviors. The third chapter shifts the attention to decision-making processes, in particular the constructs of Delay Discounting and Gratification Delay, regarded as more flexible and modifiable, and thus potential targets for personalized educational interventions. The ultimate goal is to offer a theoretical framework useful for the design of more tailored and effective educational programs, capable of integrating psychological dimensions into the promotion of Financial Literacy.

Abstract
The ultimate goal is to offer a theoretical framework useful for the design of more tailored and effective educational programs, capable of integrating psychological dimensions into the promotion of Financial Literacy.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
