This thesis focuses on the technical evolution of the hybrid Power Unit in Formula 1 cars, with paritcular reference to the period between 2014-2025. The analysis examines the structure of the powertrains, the functioning of their main components and the choices adopted in order to improve performance and efficiency. Special attention is given to the turbocharger and its integration with the MGU-H system, given its importance as one of the most significant innovations of the hybrid era. The development of the cars is told as directed by the technical regulations imposed by the Federation (FIA). This work is based on the official regulations issued to the teams, as well as on technical articles, with the purpose of providing a general overview of the evolutionary path followed in one of the most advanced fields in engeneering.
