The thesis will be developed based on the analysis of selected examples from the most recent scientific literature, with a particular focus on studies in which Drosophila melanogaster is used as an experimental model for investigating cardiac pathophysiology. Articles will be examined that illustrate how, in this model organism, key parameters of cardiac function—such as contractility and intracellular calcium signaling—are assessed. Furthermore, the choice of Drosophila as a model system will be discussed and justified based on its anatomical and evolutionary characteristics, which support its relevance for studying cardiovascular diseases.

Abstract
The thesis will be developed based on the analysis of selected examples from the most recent scientific literature, with a particular focus on studies in which Drosophila melanogaster is used as an experimental model for investigating cardiac pathophysiology. Articles will be examined that illustrate how, in this model organism, key parameters of cardiac function—such as contractility and intracellular calcium signaling—are assessed. Furthermore, the choice of Drosophila as a model system will be discussed and justified based on its anatomical and evolutionary characteristics, which support its relevance for studying cardiovascular diseases.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
