This thesis presents a flow measurement campaign conducted at the Caorle lagoon mouth using a side-looking Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP). The primary objective is to analyze tidal dynamics through velocity and water level data, in order to characterize the tidal flow entering and exiting the lagoon. The acquired measurements were processed to obtain velocity profiles and discharge estimates as a function of the tidal cycle. The results provide a significant contribution to the understanding of the lagoon's water balance, with an important application purpose: the collected data will support the Consortium in the future management of the hydraulic system, particularly for salinity monitoring and protecting the lagoon's environmental balance.

Abstract
This thesis presents a flow measurement campaign conducted at the Caorle lagoon mouth using a side-looking Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP). The primary objective is to analyze tidal dynamics through velocity and water level data, in order to characterize the tidal flow entering and exiting the lagoon. The acquired measurements were processed to obtain velocity profiles and discharge estimates as a function of the tidal cycle. The results provide a significant contribution to the understanding of the lagoon's water balance, with an important application purpose: the collected data will support the Consortium in the future management of the hydraulic system, particularly for salinity monitoring and protecting the lagoon's environmental balance.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
