Civil aviation in the medium-short range still relies for the most part on technologies developed around the 1980s. We are in the end-of-life period of this generation of engines and the aeronautical industry is turning to new solutions proposed by today’s development teams. The generational exchange in this field is, however, a difficult, slow and expensive process, sometimes dictated by the price of raw materials and by competition. The objective of this study is to give an estimate of how the introduction of new generation engines could reduce emissions, consumption and increase the performance of everyday aircraft.
L’aviazione civile a medio-corto raggio predispone ancora per la maggior parte di tecnologie sviluppate intorno agli anni ’80. Ci troviamo nel periodo di fine vita di tale generazione di motori e l’industria aeronautica si sta rivolgendo a nuove soluzioni proposte dai team di sviluppo odierni. L’intercambio generazionale in questo ambito è tuttavia un processo difficile, lento e costoso, dettato talvolta dal prezzo delle materie prime e dalla concorrenza. L’obiettivo di questo studio è quello di dare una stima a come l’introduzione di motori di nuova generazione possa ridurre emissioni, consumi ed aumentare le prestazioni dei velivoli di uso quotidiano.
