This thesis focuses on the study of an isolated electrical system powered by generators driven by hydraulic and wind turbines, integrated with a pump that enables water recirculation from the lower to the upper reservoir. The objective is to analyze the system’s stability, voltage and frequency regulation, and the interaction between renewable energy sources within an isolated microgrid. A complete model was developed and simulated in Simulink to evaluate system performance and propose control strategies aimed at ensuring efficient and autonomous operation under varying operating conditions (variability of renewable sources and load demand).
Il presente lavoro di tesi concerne lo studio di un sistema elettrico in isola alimentato da generatori azionati da turbine idrauliche ed eoliche, integrato con una pompa che consente il riciclo dell’acqua dal bacino di valle a quello di monte. L’obiettivo è quello di studiare la stabilità del sistema, la regolazione di tensione e frequenza, e l’interazione tra le fonti rinnovabili in una microrete isolata. Il modello completo è stato sviluppato e simulato in ambiente Simulink per valutarne le prestazioni e proporre strategie di controllo per un funzionamento efficiente e autonomo al variare delle condizioni di esercizio (variabilità delle fonti rinnovabili e della richiesta del carico).
