This document is the internship report for the project "Statistics...at School", an initiative carried out at the "G.B. Ferrari" Institute in Este between February and June 2025, involving 16 classes from different educational tracks. The main objective of the project was to integrate fundamental statistical concepts into upper secondary school education. The teaching program, based on a revised version of the textbook "Statistica per esempi" by E. Lombardo and A. Zuliani and enriched with new teaching modules, included four-hour lessons on topics such as probability, statistics applied to sports and physics, descriptive statistics, and linear regression. These contents were incorporated into the Mathematics and Civic Education curricula. To evaluate its effectiveness, questionnaires were administered to both students and teachers. The initial student questionnaires investigated their perception of statistics and their future expectations regarding the subject. The final student questionnaire, instead, collected feedback on their experience of the project, useful for identifying areas for improvement. A quiz was also administered to assess the students' acquired skills. Teachers likewise provided feedback on the overall progress of the initiative. The report analyzes the current context of statistics teaching in secondary schools, highlighting its educational value. It describes the teaching project and the questionnaires. Finally, it presents and analyzes the results of the surveys, concluding with a reflection on the future prospects of teaching statistics in the school environment.
Questo documento è la relazione di stage del progetto "Statistica...a Scuola," un'iniziativa svolta presso l'Istituto "G.B. Ferrari" di Este tra febbraio e giugno 2025, che ha coinvolto 16 classi di vari indirizzi. L'obiettivo principale del progetto è stato integrare i concetti fondamentali della statistica nell'istruzione secondaria di secondo grado. Il programma didattico, basato su una rielaborazione del testo "Statistica per esempi" di E. Lombardo e A. Zuliani e arricchito da nuovi moduli didattici, ha previsto lezioni di quattro ore su temi quali probabilità, statistica applicata allo sport e alla fisica, statistica descrittiva e regressione lineare. Questi contenuti sono stati inseriti nei programmi di Matematica ed Educazione Civica. Per valutarne l'efficacia, sono stati somministrati questionari a studenti e docenti. I questionari iniziali degli studenti hanno indagato la loro percezione della statistica e le aspettative future sulla disciplina. Il questionario finale degli studenti ha raccolto invece feedback sull'esperienza del progetto, utili a individuare aree di miglioramento. Agli studenti è stato inoltre somministrato un quiz per la verifica delle competenze acquisite. Anche i docenti hanno fornito un riscontro sull'andamento generale dell'iniziativa. La relazione analizza il contesto attuale dell'insegnamento della statistica nelle scuole secondarie, evidenziandone l'importanza formativa. Descrive il progetto didattico e i questionari. Infine, presenta e analizza i risultati delle indagini, concludendo con una riflessione sulle prospettive future dell'insegnamento della statistica nel mondo scolastico.
